The National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Chief Bassey Edem, on behalf of the entire members of the body, has signed a N500m contract with XMatrix 369 Limited for the construction of the first phase of NACCIMA Plaza in Abuja.

According to a statement from the association, the first phase of the project is expected to cover the preliminaries, basements, hall, ground and first floors of the building.

Speaking at the contract-signing ceremony at the NACCIMA Secretariat in Lagos on Thursday, Bassey said he would ensure the return of NACCIMA to its rightful place as the apex body for all business associations in the country.

He said, “We will take measures towards making NACCIMA the first port of call for business information, regarding any member of the association and the entire business community. We will also enhance our representation in any bilateral mission of the Federal Government and we will continue to play our leading role in the ECOWAS sub-region through the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce & Industry”.

Chief Bassey said it was in a bid to achieve this that the association embarked on a befitting secretariat project in the nation’s capital.
