American singer August Alsina has refuted hearsays of entering into collaboration on a song with Kenyan rapper Octopizzo.

The rapper had claimed that he recorded his new song titled This Could Be Us with the 22-year-old R&B star who took to Twitter on Thursday to label Octopizzo a liar.

"FROM MANAGEMENT: "The song "Could Be Us" by @OCTOPIZZO does not feature @AugustAlsina". - Mgmt (sic)," he wrote to his more than 800,000 followers on the social media page.

An audio version of the alleged song was recently leaked to local blogs and was one of the most trending topics on twitter on the day. Critics claim that the song is a 'copy-paste' version of Lord Eazy ft Fedarro's Round Me.

"I have not met August Alsina yet. My people send him my music and he loved it (sic). He then recorded the chorus and sent it to me," Octopizzo told a local publication a day after Alsina's denial.

However, efforts to get a comment from him were futile.
