Ousman Jallow has turned down the invitation to play in Gambia's game against Cameroon citing 'family reason' as reasons for spurning it.

The former Gambia U-20 captain was among 24-players summoned to national duty in Scorpions' cracking match with the Indomitable Lions billed for September 6th.

The striker's decision to turn down Football Federation's request was divulged by gaffer Raoul Savoy in a press briefing convened yesterday.

Savoy, who will be in his second game at the Scorpions managerial helm, revealed that he met the goal-poacher in Helsinki to discuss the possibility of including him for Cameroon's encounter. But the erstwhile Brondby front-man decided not to come for family reasons.

The attacker was left out in the cold in Gambia's opening qualifier goalless stalemate against South Africa with other first-timers preferred.

At the time, circumstances worked against Jallow forcing Raoul Savoy to exclude the ex-Gambia youth team captain.

The 26-year-old had sat for more than one-year without action after making back and forth trips to England on rehabilitation before inking the HJK's deal that will expire in October. Injuries picked up at the start of the new season did not help his precarious case either.

However, Jallow improved in his new team scoring five goals this season and was thought to be laying a fresh case that he deserved a call-up to the national team until this latest news.

Players are to camp in Morocco where Savoy believes is best suited for the players.
