6th Maghreb Wushu Tournament - Algeria Champion of Sanda, Ranks 2nd in Tao Lu

Algeria on Monday claimed Maghreb Wushu Championship in the style of Sanda and ranked second in the Tao Lu, as part of the 6th tournament, organized in Algiers from August 14 to 17th.

The tournament, which was played at the sports hall of Ain Taya (Algeria), featured the two styles of Wushu discipline: The Sanda (fighting) and Tao Lu (eleven styles) in both genders: men and ladies.

In Sanda, Algeria beat Tunisia in the final, with a total of 16 medals (5 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze).

The Tunisians have won 10 medals (4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze).

In the style of Lu Tao, Algeria was overtaken by Tunisia with a total of 19 medals (7 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze).

Tunisians have won one more bronze medal than the Algerians (7 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze).

Several weight categories were on the schedule: -52kg, -56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg and 80kg for boys and -52kg, 56kg and 65kg for girls, while the category of -60kg was cancelled due to the lack of athletes.
