Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources informs the general public that the country is currently experiencing Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supply disruptions due to shutdown of some refineries in South Africa.

According to a press release, the shutdowns are part of their annual maintenance plans. It further states that, unfortunately some of the refineries took longer than the original planned time hence affecting the supply of gas in the Southern region.

The ministry wishes to advice the public that LPG dealers continue to receive minimum supplies from South Africa as well as importing from the region and international markets.

The release states that the ministry continues to work closely with the local gas industry to monitor the situation and the public will be informed of the developments.
