UPDATE: Nigeria Government, Japan Partner On Classroom Constructions

A five-man delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) began its official visit  to Ibadan, the Oyo state capital after arriving at the Alakia airport at about 11.20 p.m. on Tuesday, 11th of August, 2015, headed by the Head of Mission; Masaya Otsuka.

On arrival, the five-man delegation comprising of Masaya Otsuka;  Deputy Head of Mission, Nakamura Hirotaka; Chief Representative, Gaku Sato; First Secretary Economic Development Cooperation, Emiko Mikami; Project Formulation Advisor and Elekwachi Doris; Project officer, were met by the permanent secretary of Oyo state Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), Mr. Yinka Osuntogun.

The delegation moved swiftly to the SUBEB office at agodi in the city where various talks were held. After the brief chit-chat, the JICA delegation visited some of the on-going project sites been put together as a token of cooperation between Japan and the federal government of Nigeria.

The delegation visited St. Luke primary school at molete where the foundation of the classrooms has been dug and work is on-going steadily. Also, the the team visited Abadina primary school where the head of mission was taken round the on-going site. The team later paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan; Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole where there were talks of the Japanese Government setting up a Japanese language department at the institution, which was heartily accepted by the JICA head of Mission.

Other activities are billed to take place tomorrow.
