Foreign Minister Dr Tedros Adhanom, while conferring his Djiboutian counterpart, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, expressed with satisfaction that the Government of Ethiopia is delighted with the progress made on the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway Project.

Dr Tedros emphasized that the completion of the rail line will have a milestone of significance to make the two countries' economies competitive. Foreign Minister Mahamoud Ali Youssouf on his part said that the Addis Ababa-Djibouti rail line will be complete by December 2015 and begin operation by October 2015.

The Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to the Government of Ethiopia for granting scholarships to Djiboutian students to study in Ethiopian universities. Both Ministers also discussed issues related to regional and multilateral issues of common interest, including the IGAD-led South Sudan peace process.
