The management of Sharks FC on Monday sacked the club’s chief coach Daboere Dokubo, due to strings of bad results in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League.

The General Manager of the club, Okey Kpaluku, told journalists in Port Harcourt, Rivers State that Dokubo’s sack was with immediate effect.

He said that the club’s assistant coach, Festus Allen, would take charge of the team till mid-season, when a technical adviser would be appointed.

“It’s management’s decision that Dokubo steps aside.

“Following Gbenga Ogunbote moving to 3SC earlier this season, we decided to give his assistant, Ere Dokubo, an opportunity to prove himself.

“Dokubo has had six games in charge and the fortunes of the team have not been the better for it,’’ he said.

According to the manager, the club has now decided to engage the services of a technical adviser who will be unveiled to the public mid-season.

“But until then, for the remaining three games of the league and an FA Cup game, Festus Allen would be in charge.

“He is a Rivers man and also has experience having coached at 3SC and ABS football clubs previously,'' he said.

Sharks, presently bottom of league table, played out a goalless draw at home against Nasarawa Utd in a Match Day 16 encounter.
