Jonathan appoints Garba NECO Registrar, others

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Professor Abdulrashid Garba as Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO).

He replaces Prof. Promise Okpara, whose tenure had ended and since retired from the service of the Council.

Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, conveyed this appointment in statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant, Malam Sule Ya Sule, in Abuja.

The statement also indicated that Jonathan has also approved the appointment of Prof. Monday Tommy Joshua and Prof. Ismail Junaid as Executive Secretaries of the

National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) respectively.

Others are Professor Bashir Muhammad Fagge as Provost, Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, while Dr. Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi as Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida.

According to the statement, the appointments are with immediate effect.
