International Women’s Day (IWD), is celebrated each year on March 8. The celebration started early 1900s.

IWD is “a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.”

First held in 1911, International Women’s Day was recognised by the United Nations in 1975. The UN theme for the 2024 International Women’s Day is “Investing in women: Accelerate progress.”

Also, according to the IWD official website, the campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is “Inspire Inclusion”.

In this year’s celebration, the IWD are calling on organizations, groups, and individuals worldwide to play a part in their community, at work, at home, and beyond by joining the campaign of inspiring world where all women are included.

To truly include women means to openly embrace their diversity of race, age, ability, faith, body image, and how they identify.

When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.

And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.

As women are being celebrated today worldwide, CEOAFRICA is calling for a world where women are included in all fields of endeavour.

Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women.

#Inspire Inclusion. #HappyInternationalWomen’sDay
