There was a fire outbreak in the early hours of Tuesday at the popular Singer market (Kasuwar Singer), situated in the Kano State metropolis.
Singer market is the largest market in the State where essential commodities like sugar, rice, millet, detergents and other consumable products are sold.
It was reported that no fewer than five firefighting vehicles were deployed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent shops within the market.
This is coming five days after a fire destroyed Badume market in the Bichi Local Government Area of the State.
Efforts made by our correspondent to contact the Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, failed as calls made to his telephone did not go through.
