Zamfara police assures schools of adequate security

The Zamfara State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to provide adequate security and ensure protection of Tertiary institutions of learning in the State.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Kolo Yusuf, said this during a visit to the Federal University Gusau, Federal College of Education (Technical) and Police Secondary School in Gusau.
This was contained in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Muhammad Shehu, on Thursday in Gusau.
He said; “In compliance with the IGP’s directives, Mr Kolo Yusuf led Police Tactical Team to Federal University Gusau, Federal College of Education (Technical) and Police Secondary School Gusau for confidence building patrol.’’
“During the visit, the Police Commissioner met with the management of the schools, who took him round some of the strategic locations in their respective schools which were instantly assessed for security mapping, to safeguard lives and property.’’
“Kolo also made some paramount observations and advised the schools management appropriately.”
The CP urged the staff and students to be security conscious and report suspicious movements to the police and other security agencies.
The management of the schools on their parts commended the IGP and the police for their concerns to the security of the schools.
They said; “We promised to give all necessary support to the police and other security agencies in ensuring the safety of our schools.”
