The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, on Sunday, tackled the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council spokesperson, Senator Dino Melaye.
This happened during the Presidential town hall Series in Abuja, organised by the Centre for Democracy and Development and Arise Television.
It was reported that Melaye had reportedly called an attendee of the meeting ‘Obi people.’
He was quoted to have said; “Obi people, na wa o.”
Peter Obi on hearing the words of the former lawmaker, snapped and said; “Stop that Dino. Why are you always calling me? I won’t take that. This man is from the ANPP. Why are you calling him Obi people?”
It was reported that Melaye feigned ignorance but Obi insisted that he will not condone such behaviour.
Obi said; “Stop that, I have taken enough from you here. Why are you always calling me?”
The Presidential candidates of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso; Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who represented Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Kola Abiola of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) were present at the debate.
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu was absent and had no representation.
